I'm not sure I agree, Brumar. If people perceive their government and its leaders as corrupt, respect for the law and morality deteriorates at the local level. That is why I never defend William Jefferson the Clinton's personal misconduct, although I do like to point out that he is not the only sinner in high places, and does have some accomplishments. Fair is fair. I would have preferred Dole for the past four years--I think he could have better inspired young people. Ditto, in some respects, John the McCain.
