UK: RESEARCH ALERT-INVESTEC RAISES VODAFONE EPS. 1 Jun 2000 09:40GMT LONDON, June 1 (Reuters) - Investec Henderson Crosthwaite Securities on Thursday said it raised its profit forecasts for Vodafone AirTouch Plc following this week's better-than-expected results. Analyst Christian Maher said he raised his 2000/1 forecasts for earnings per share to 3.9 pence from 3.54p and for pre-tax profits to 4.35 billion pounds ($6.52 billion) from 4.0 billion. "We feel very comfortable with the Orange disposal, comfortable for the further IPOs, and the forecasts for UMTS expenditure," he told Reuters.
