HDL, those who keep making that statement can really get my dander up. Its like saying Walmart is going to fail because they never invent anything- just sell stuff.
Or that Mc Donalds is merely a burger maker and will fail because people might turn to other foods.
Those who watched Dell from the beginning can see that Dell ( Michael) is consistently applying the same business principles which made for success from the first
weeks of production.
Michael is spending more on R+D than in the past. But
the truer and most valuable R+D that Dell does is not to invent some new gadget- Dell's R+D is in finding the gadgets invented by others, integrating them in a new system, and making them all work together.
Many companies can produce a notebook, but it takes lot of experiments (R+D) to make one like Dell does that can be dropped on a hard floor from a height of 5 feet and survive the trip or take top honors on comparison tests.

Why is this crummmy market up?. I have sold most everything but Dell. They told me the markets were going nowhere-just volatility for months. The NAS is up 5700 points. I coulda been rich. Why are they doing this?. It always happens to me.(sob). Sell and it goes up, buy and it goes down.
