Thursday June 1 8:52 AM ET Sales Climb for Retail Giant Wal-Mart BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Reuters) - Retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT - news) on Thursday posted a 7.4 percent increase in May same-store sales, including its Sam's Club division, versus a 7.7 percent increase a year ago. In a statement, the company said its same-store sales for the 17 weeks ended May 26, 2000, including Sam's Club, increased 6.8 percent versus 8.6 percent in the year-ago period.
