One needs to consider all these and many other issues to determine if it make sense for anyone to talk about releasing a 1.5G part when the last part released was 1G.

All of your points are rational and logical and well thought out. However, marketing and the consumers' response to that marketing is not necessarily rational and logical..... My point is that if the rumors are true that T-birds are yielding at 1.5 G, then AMD has the opportunity to make a quantum leap vis-a-vis Intel and to capture a sizeable hunk of market share.

Its an opportunity that probably won't present itself again anytime soon. And after all, its only putting into play what you have been suggesting for some time....that AMD needs to develop killer instincts. What did you think that was....being rational and logical......?
