Michael,
Thank you for the article, which helps my self confidence in that I expect to add substantially to my core Intel position this week, and buy some more 99 leaps. I've been waiting for a more comfortable entry point, but with the expectations for the success of PII, the upcoming split, adaption of technology in Asia, DVD and MMX and what they mean for PC/TV entertainment, on and on, I'm not sure I'll see a lower price.
At this time next year, I expect to see $12 ps trailing earnings, and perhaps a higher PE due to growth from new finished goods categories that include Intel CPU's.
I haven't seen too much press on the modular CPU introduced with the PII, but I think it is a very significant change that may affect how PC's and other smart appliances are marketed in the future. Essentially, it allows Intel to sell finished goods to the public instead of OEM to box manufacturers. It will be interesting to see how this plays out several years from now.
Thanks again,
John |
