Greg, Let's just bury the hatchet.
I don't mind the cheerleader dig, by the way. If the saddle shoe fits, well, you gotta wear it. Just in case you thought my enthusiasm was unjustified I wanted to leave you with this quotation...
"SanDisk's patent no. 5,602,987 teaches and claims important aspects of the emulation of a magnetic disk drive in removable flash memory cards, such as PC CARD, CompactFlash(TM), MultiMediaCard and the Secure Digital (SD(TM)) Memory Card. The removable flash memory card claimed in the patent appears to the computer, digital camera, digital Internet music player or other digital device to be completely identical to the industry standard magnetic disk drive although the flash memory is solid state, has no moving parts, is extremely compact and rugged and consumes negligible battery power. Therefore it is ideally suited to be the universal digital storage device in the emerging post-PC era."
I made the stuff up about the "final common denominator" and "digital currency". Others have said that SanDisk manufactures the "bullets" for the war, "picks and shovels" for the gold rush, and "gasoline" for GM, Ford and Chrysler.
Either way you look at it flash memory is a universal solution and device manufacturers are gravitating to SanDisk's form factors...CompactFlash, MultiMediaCard and SDMC.
