I've been noticing quite frequently the best bid and ask sizes not changing with transactions. For ex. an offer of 6000 shares, multiple trades of 1000, 500 etc. go off totaling at least 10,000 shares with no change in size. This happens with NYSE as well as NASDAQ stocks.

What do you think is happening?
