His economic models also tell him that allowing inflation to get out of hand will ruin the economy and increase unemployment.

Are you talking about the same Greenspan who raised interest rates multiple times several years ago, because he was sure that unemployment below 6% would be disastrous to the economy?

Isn't there some saying about "....good intentions."
