Brazil: Nokia to build new plant
FRIDAY, JUNE 02, 2000 8:39 AM - South American Business Information
Nokia plans to produce cellular telecoms equipment in Brazil, but its final decision still depends on Anatel's PCS regulation, which is to be defined until mid June, 2000. At present Nokia produces cellular phones in Manaus, State of Amazonas through a joint venture with Gradiente. The new plant, however, will not be erected in Manaus. It is to start producing between 6 and 9 months after construction works start.
