I didn't call you a liar. Please return the favor. Otherwise, this discussion is pointless. Different gas stations charge different prices, even across the street. If you live in the USA, you should know that.
As for phone calls, I used to pay 55 cents per minute for cellular calls not too long ago. I now pay 10 cents per minute. Switching from land line to cellular is increase in consumption, BTW, as you are not tied to a handset. They are not perfect substitutes as cellular has more features (and hence is more costly), hence the comparison by counting number of phone lines is oranges to apples. Now, even cellular prices are going down.
In any case, if you are biased and will only look at your small sample space, what can I say. If you are not doing well, the world must be doing lousily as well, I presume?
