SNC-Lavalin Acquires CAE's Energy Control Systems Division
JUNE 2, 2000 MONTREAL, QUEBEC--SNC-Lavalin Inc. and CAE Inc. announced today that the acquisition of CAE's Energy Control Systems Division by SNC-Lavalin has been completed. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The division's approximately 200 employees have joined SNC-Lavalin and will continue to provide clients world-wide with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) applications and specialized systems for the monitoring, control and management of electrical power generation, transmission and distribution.
"This acquisition marks SNC-Lavalin's full-fledged entry into the growing field of energy management and perfectly complements our extensive expertise in the power industry," said Klaus Triendl, SNC-Lavalin Executive Vice-President and member of the Office of the President. "We will now be able to execute contracts for SCADA, Distribution Management Systems (DMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Generation Management Systems around the globe."

The acquisition of CAE's Energy Control Systems Division further reinforces SNC-Lavalin's position as a world leader in the hydroelectric, nuclear and thermal power generation, transmission and distribution markets.
