It may not be "new" (as in "brand new") methodology, but it is still "bad" methodology. As a relatively "new" and "bad" methodology we are only now beginning to see just how "bad" it is and how "badly" it fails to measure inflation in an extreme situation. If you think there's no inflation explain ECRI's latest...Even Greenspan watches ECRI's nos. He knows better than to trust the cooked nos. coming out our own govt.
