ORCL and SUNW were coming out with anti PC spiel to try to persuade people against developing for Win32 in order to push their own "run anywhere" software. What has in fact happened is the opposite where Sony gives u a very easy to use device and u are then tied in to buying software that they get royalties on and connecting to the net thru their own approved ISP's, which they make money on. Same with webtv and other set top ideas where the masses pay a subscription and get an easy to use machine. But the more sophisticated amongst us will still use PC's.
