Bush has never personally suggested that he would appoint Wm. Jefferson the Clinton as a close personal advisor, but a groundswell of support seems to be rising for the concept from ordinary citizens. Don't forget, just because former Presidents are consulted for their indispensable insights doesn't mean the incumbent is reviving Bushism, Fordism, Carterism, Nixonism (when he was still with us), etc. Don't forget also that to accomplish his legislative agenda, Bush will need bipartisan support in the senate, and that may mean working constructively with Sen. Clinton and whatever Democrat senators may look to her for guidance. Cozying up to her husband would be smart politics, not to mention being a statesman-like conciliatory gesture.
