Gene, I expect that BX and 810 will disappear quickly. 810 chipset was disliked from the beginning, and the only reason some OEMs used it was that Intel refused to offer an acceptable successor to BX. The choices were Via Apollo, BX and 810, neither of which were very appealing. It is interesting to note that Via gained about 40% of chipset market from Intel in this period. I think Via will suffer the most from this announcement. I look for some interesting benchmark comparisons in future issues of trade mag's. We won't have to wait that long. I think the hardware sites will be flooded with reviews soon. And will the Dimension 440BX/PC100 be replaced by 815E/PC133? Idon't have a link, but I read somewhere that some OEMs will standardize on this chip. They mentioned Dell and Compaq. Joe
