Ammonia and mercury have devastating effects on brass. Brass that has been washed in ammonia is beautiful, but it has been made brittle. You'd be lucky to get two reloadings out of it if the brass is in cartridge case form.
A case that has had a mercuric primer fired in it is too dangerous to load. It can make like a grenade in the chamber.
