Company Press Release AXCESS to Present Low Cost Network Solutions at NRF Show DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2000--AXCESS Inc. (Nasdaq:AXSI - news) announced today that it will be exhibiting at the National Retail Federation (NRF) Loss Prevention Conference and Exhibition in Baltimore from June 4th-7th.
The Company will demonstrate its recently expanded network-based digital video line, as well as its patented hands-free automatic identification technology, both of which are used in a variety of applications such as: remote surveillance, compliance monitoring, asset management, personnel time and attendance, vehicle and personnel access control and inventory management.
At the forefront of AXCESS' digital video innovations are the LANcorder(TM) and LANconnect(TM). The LANcorder is a Windows-based digital video recording system, sold as a full-featured PC or as a software add-on to an existing PC. It is capable of viewing and recording up to 16 simultaneous Prism Video streams with frame rates unattainable by competing systems. The LANconnect is a TCP/IP addressable video transmitter that effectively converts any standard analog CCTV camera into a networked video camera. Other demonstrations will feature AXCESS' advanced digital video transmitters; the LANcam(TM), a networked digital video camera with built-in compression and firewall, and the ActiveTag(TM) Asset Management System -- the first complete asset management solution of its kind, based on patented radio frequency identification.
``The NRF Loss Prevention Conference is unique in that it offers AXCESS the opportunity to present a host of recent innovations to a market which is ideally suited for these emerging technologies,'' stated Mike Uremovich, Vice President of Sales for AXCESS Inc. ``The past several months have brought AXCESS great advancements in both the Prism Video line of digital video products and the ActiveTag line of automatic identification. Not only can we offer retailers easily integrated and networked surveillance products, but we can offer them at a very affordable price point.''
Of particular use to the retail industry is the capability to integrate AXCESS' video transmitters with cash registers. Combining digital video transmission with data collected at point of sale provides text overlays (transaction information, etc.) as well as automatic event recording (triggered by actions such as ``no sale'' transactions or cash drawer openings). AXCESS will also demonstrate its Web portal service which provides e-supervision, through the Internet, via live or recorded video and real-time asset management monitoring. This unique service allows supervisors to increase productivity and reduce on-site management time by supervising their facilities from a remote PC.
AXCESS will be exhibiting in Booth No. 1006. For more information on the AXCESS' digital video and automatic identification technologies, reference the company's Web site at www.axcessinc.com.
