Selective memory of yours again...

Remember one of our last debates about this; when Altris was selling under a dollar and I stated that Altris had a far more likely chance to double/triple in price going forward vs. DCTM, FILE, HUMC, OTEX. Well that's exactly what has happened and all those others are trading sideways/down since.

Only heading down after they had doubled or trippled in price, and none of the above were in danger of becoming extinct in the past couple of years.

OTEX - 9 1/2 to 60 5/8 Oct 99 to Feb 2000, currently at 27 13/16
HUMC - 21 3/4 to 60 7/16, same time frame, currently at 42 3/8
FILE - 16 46 13/16, currently at 21 11/16
DCTM - 30 1/16 to 106, currently at 63 3/8

I see all of these doubled or tripled, and most still are up substantially.

ALTS - 53 cents to 3.625 and while that's a nice gain, we are talking about a highly speculative, low volume stock with substantial risk.

Now I am not suggesting any one of these as an investment, but your statement is without grounds. Lots of off the cuff talk happen on the web.

The fact that MSFT choose Altris over the competition is something that you need to accept and acknowledge in earnest -- and not make attempts to marginalize/minimize the true importance of the win

I merely attempted to put some numbers against it. Prestige matters little unless it turns into dollars in the end. The reality remains that MSFT has purchased DM technology from other vendors as well, for use in different groups. Using a single win as the basis for a thesis that Altris has somehow been crowned and is now the player to beat - well that's just laughable.

Altris has a superior product (as MSFT knows) in many respects

May or may not be true, but frankly I see so little differentiation between the various DM players that I think its a little tough to call, and I work in this area.

Bottom line, they won a deal, there's some prestige to it for sure. Now its on to the next one and 'what have you done for me lately'.

In the meantime, I hold no positions in any DM stocks and if you think I really would take the time to purposely marginalize anything that Altris or FILE or any of the DM players for that matter, well I guess you'd have to come up with a motivation.

Drive stock down? For what purpose? My money is *far* away from the entire DM sector.

Competitive aspects? I have *never* seen Altris in a competition and suspect it will be a blue moon before it should happen.

Nope, just calling them like I see em, as you try to. Take it or leave it, just one more opinion out there on the web.

Frankly I can think of safer places to try to double my money.

And since you are going to ask, simply buying the QQQ and holding on for a while is a safer vehicle IMO.

Cheers
