Elpolvo,

Absinth (or absinthe)is more yellow than green when mixed with a little water. The 'Pretend absinth' is 'Pernod,' a French aperitif, and they both taste like licorice. Absinth is a distillate of wormwood and tends to rot the brain (really). It is outlawed in most of the world and is reputed to be a love potion of great potency.

When I was stationed in Germany in early sixties, you could still buy it in Spain.

Adventurous young Fighter Pilots naturally had to try it once. I can tell you that after one large highball (ice and water added) one does not care if school keeps or not.
Never had another.
