I guess the answer is investor interest for the price rising now.

Did you actually think the lender would sell the stock at the same price they got it for? The more it goes up now the more they get for it. Looking at the amounts being sold it would be relatively easy for them to manipulate the stock up substantially before they sold any large amount.

But now with the latest news releases, the momentum snowball effect takes place, and yes, Corel is now as RIPE as RIPE can be for a takeover from someone such as AOL.
