TI and Cisco would seem to be a very possible future alliance - but the questions is, for what.

The fun part is that both are on the outside looking in re CDMA. Neither has a license from Qualcomm for any use of CDMA whatsoever (as far as I have been able to find out - may be wrong of course) but lots of sound bites about "wireless".

TI is the guts of GSM - particularly for Nokia. So the question becomes, now what.

Cisco is the guts of the old networking (electrons not photons) so the question there is, now what.

Perhaps the Richardson get together will offer a clue toward the answer.
