What you guys seem to forget is that the test was made on 700MHz chip, so the Classic Athlon's cache was half-speed. Classic Athlon started to show deceiving performance as the cahce was slowing down to 2/5 and 1/3.

The role of the TBird is to allow AMD to ramp up the speed without decreasing the cache speed; at 800+ Mhz we will begin to see bigger performance gap between TBird and Classic AThlon.

However, I was expecting better performance from the TBird.
