TI has been at its location since the 1950's. It has facilities in several places, Richardson on the north side of LBJ Freeway (I-635) at Central Expressway (I-45), just south inside the city of Dallas and a few blocks from me. The so-called telecom corridor is north on I-45 several miles, just before the Collin County line and was a development scheme to get lots of telecom companies.

I had nothing particular in mind by the post, but everything is not on the West Coast and I can get a little paranoid when the likes of Cisco wants to put its internet-wireless campus in Dallas close to Nokia, Ericy and TI, and far away from Qualcomm. I think I have mentioned before the thought that perhaps Qualcomm should have a facility here, but its R&D staff is so small (relatively speaking) I don't know if it can be worthwhile to have it so far away.
