Does C'T have a history of leaking before NDAs expire? Perhaps that's why AMD didn't give them one.

True, there could be something horribly wrong, and the Tbirds are in short supply... but come on, would you (AMD) fly in journalists to your new fab if things weren't great? I can see it now, "Behind you sits the 1 working CPU that this FAB produced in the past 2 years. We expect an additional CPU in late fall." :) (taking a page from the Intel 1GHz 'release')

Anyhow, at the 1GHz level, cache speed ratio improvements themselves should tack on another 7-10% over athlon classic performance in the benchmarks for which that matters. Any other core improvements (which we really have no reason to expect) would be icing on the cake, as would, say, a 1.1 or 1.2GHz production part.
