Jeb, when a router gets a packet it looks the network part of the address up on a routing table and comes up with the next router to send the packet to. It does not know your packet of data from mine. Cybercorp takes the data and hands it off to an isp same as you do. The ips routes it to a backbone provider. Seems the problem with getting the data to you is with a router on the backbone. Can it be fixed?? Sure it can. But the people that control the backbone are the ones that have to fix it not Cyber. All Cyber can do is call up and bitch. The only thing else Cyber could do is change isp's and backbones. Then they would probably have the same problem with a different set of users.

You really have three choices:

1)keep calling and bitching, it may get fixed some day.
2)change isp's
3)change brokers

As far as cyber making the software not drop when it is getting bad data, that is an option. But remember these are streaming quotes. It's can't ask to resend the data as it is supposed to be a real time stream and the timeout and resend would make the data way to late. They can just ignore a certain number of dropped packets, but a some point it gets dangerous to trade and you are better dropping the connection and trying to get it back up cleaner.

I don't know why Cyber has not answered your questions, but it may be because they have no good answers to give.
