Even IBM's venerated "roadmap" shows vertical recording kicking in at 90 GBpsi. I think vertical is an inevitable. Then again, a lot of engineering between here and there. By the way,the top end of the "limit" on most charts today (assuming vertical) weighs in around 180 GBpsi.
