jim kelley,

Re: Registered, ECC memory

Thanks for the opinion. I will add it to my collection of opinions.

Impact of ECC on performance:
tomshardware.com

While it is theoretically possible that a system with ECC memory correction enabled can match a system with ECC disabled or a system without ECC memory, it is impossible for ECC system to add performance. This is contrary to what your post suggested.

Regarding registered memory, neither BX nor Via chipsets that Tom used support registered memory. So the registered memory could not have been used to enhance performance of SDRAM based systems, which is again contrary to what your post suggested.

The reason I used the word "I think" is because I don't know the impact of registered memory on the performance of a system. This is a sign of hesitation. A different style from yours. Your style is to spew BS without any hesitation.
