Hi Frank,

I believe at this time it is just straight 64 Kbps PCM
encoding following ITU G.711. The telco card on the
modem packages the PCM into an ATM following AAL1.
The virtual circuits are connected to a Tdsoft box
which does the interconnection to the V5.2 interface
to the Class5. Essentially a virtual circuit between
each RJ11 jack in the modem(s) and the Tdsoft box. The
Tdsoft does the grooming into the V5.2 interface.

There is signaling between the modem and the ComController
for QoS scheduling, etc. There is signaling between the
modem and the Tdsoft box for hook state.

I'll go check on the details and if there is anything
to add, I will in a subsequent note.

Mark
