China,

Perhaps we should call this the Qualcomm shareholders
VS Tero.

1) I find it ironic when we Americans start criticizing
Finland about their lack of concern for the well being
of their people and start praising China. I could
open up a huge debate however let's just say that
I'll mail a bullet from my 12 year-old son's gun to
some family in China so they can save the $25.00 fee
they are charged by the Chinese gov't when the gov't executes their son.

2) Also if you think that China is not playing games
with the cell phone maufacuters (NOK, MOT, QCOM etc..)
with the recent flurry of studies, press releases,
cancelled contracts etc...you do not understand how they
operate...leverage is what they are working for now.

3) Qualcomm will receive royalties no matter what technology is adopted (CDMA2000 or WCDMA). I also predict that in the future Qualcomm will get out of the
chip manufacturing game and become a pure IP play, maybe
along the lines of ARM. A Wireless think-tank that
creates new approaches and the liscences them out.
I believe this makes more $$$ for Qualcom.

4) Nokia is a great company and has proven that
a great idea is only 1/2 the solution. You have to be able
to mass produce it (70+ million phones sold last year)
and make it something that people want to buy.

These were all just my opinions

ed.
