I have the feeling that Dell's patience is approaching its limit. I previously forecasted that Dell would wait for DDR before committing with the Athlon but it may be well before. Remember the 100,000 Spitfire rumor? Maybe they are even looking for >900 MHz Tbirds since they can't get volume from Intel. Maybe Dell was waiting for Dresden to get sufficient volume.

They may have been testing them for a while in case they change their minds. I vaguely remember someone who saw Athlon in Dell Labs a few weeks/months ago but, on this one, I really could be wrong. What I mean is that Dell could be already ready to build systems so they could decide whenever they want to go with AMD.

That would boost the stock prince of another $10-15.

Max,

Dreaming a bit!
