Press release on recent SGI TPC numbers: sgi.com apparently the TPC crowd is very picky about how a TPC number is quoted so I'll not paraphrase. But it's the fastest single system (not cluster) yet for this particular test in absolute performance (with TPC specific provisos, terms and conditions, yada yada). BTW apparently these benchmarks are expensive and difficult to do. From a budget standpoint you can't afford to run an arbitrary number of configurations. Thus results are usually targeted at "price/performance" or "pure performance". This result is clearly a "pure performance" config, with pretty good price/performance for the high end of the spectrum. It'd be cool to see an O200 price/performance targeted result, but like I said, apparently it is very expensive to run a benchmark. Just my personal opinions.
