Nothing wrong with my education!

I didn't say that IEEE dictated to manufacturers. I said that Intel described the FPU is their processors as IEEE-compliant (they do in my manual). The warranty says:

"Intel warrants that the Pentiumr and Pentium Pro processors, sold through the Intel Boxed Processor Program, if
properly used and installed, will be free from defects in material and workmanship and will substantially conform to
Intel's publicly available specifications for a period of three (3) years after the date the Pentium or Pentium Pro
processor was purchased (whether purchased separately or as part of a computer system)."

Then it goes on to say errata are not covered. I'm not clear if these statements are contradictory. If Intel declares anything to be an erratum it lets them off the hook on the warranty? I am guilty of spreading false rumors? Really? The FPU is not IEEE-compliant therefore I said users may have a basis for a replacement. This kind of matches the warranty statement above doesn't it?

Thanks for a pointer to the warranty though. Others may find it useful. However could you tone down the insults a little. When have I insulted you?
