Hi Scumbria; Thanks, I just about rolled out of my easy chair when I saw that one...

Anand did just graduate from college, didn't he? Just not with a degree in computer architecture, obviously. The funny thing is that I looked around, and in the course of a couple minutes couldn't find an easy to understand reference that would show what a wrong statement that was about set associativity. About all that mom and pop can understand about the subject is that "16 is better than 8".

The best link I've seen for architecture of the Willamette compared to the Mustang is this one, check it out. I've been turning on the younger engineers to the glorious beauty of processor design by showing it to them. (Dang! I'm drooling again!):
