With CHK retiring preferred I am not sure this is current, but probably still close. try about 10 1/2 mcfe reserves per share; $8 debt per share and a DDA rate of $.72.

As for value of the reserves in the ground, that is a difficult question. Yes there is a free market value if the reserves were to be sold that may be over a dollar. But the market is going to measure these companies based on what they can do exploiting. CHK is in a much much favorable position to PANA. In other words a CHK mcfe is more valuable to a shareholder than a PANA mcfe is to a PANA shareholder. And the market very appropriately is giving PANA the weak multiple -- it deserves it.
