That is wonderful Penni. Thanks for sharing it. I'm sure it is a universal sadness we mothers have that our children, if we are successful at our task of raising them, inevitably leave us behind. My daughter is still quite young of course, but already she seems to be gathering herself inward, and is not nearly as cuddly and approachable as she was a few years ago. Part of the feeling I have is sadness that my life is further toward its ending than is hers but the rest is the anticipation of the loss of her. I really love being her mother and I'll really miss being needed in the way only my children need me.
