DUD you are off base ...
a) I used dual channel ISDN from a rock solid ISP for a year and had many many problems with Cyber over that time. To show how pathetic Cyber can be at taking blame, they tried to say at one point it was my ISP's fault becuase they did a ping and lost 1 out of 100 packets.
b) I am on a 416k DSL line now, and have had repeated permission problems and data problems the past month. Since you seem fond of quoting Ping times, my times to cyber range between 31 and 70 ms.
c) ECN problems - orders not sent on first try. Orders that 'get lost'. Orders that wont cancel.
d) Inability of cyber to route interent traffic properly. Last week a rep claimed 'it is uunets fault'. Yet my pings, which happen to run through uunet, were all under 40 ms until they hit cyber where they went to 700+ ms. Then it was 'our server is overloaded because of the previous uunet problem'. So while they like boast about new data centers and backup routes, their systems are so poorly configured that when they do encounter a problem they fail.
e) What other platforms have you used to proclaim cyber is 'the best bar none'? I assume that means you have used them all?
People seem to make a lot about the cyber execution plat form, but what is really so great? Much of the data display is very dbc like (ie market view). The charts still are crappy. And the vaunted 'cybersmart' orders are at best only marginally better than using ARCA or REDI as all of them will first hit ECN's and then goto market makers.
So as not to seem soley to bash Cyber, it is nice having routes to the various ecns. There are times it is best to use BRTD and that is available now. And I really like being able to float my apps anywhere across my monitors, not just inside 1 big window.
Cyber has its good days (meaning it works) and they have their bad days (and some really bad days). Judging from comments about MB and others, they also have good and bad days. But equally important is how problems are handled and responded to. While I put in my last post that I've seen a marked increase in politeness and reduction in the holier than thou attitudes, there are still times (as can be seen by other peoples posts) that Cyber seems to either a) be unresponsive or b) misleading. Sometimes it may seem like Cyber is intentionally dodging - and odds are sometimes they are- but my impression is that many times its because its a new hire or less than fully trained tech spewing out what sounds good when they really dont know whats up. But in the mad dash for new accounts cyber continues to push the edge in ratio of competent support to customers. Maybe the elimination of a lot of day traders this year helps that.
Fire away....
