From Raging Bull:
FYI - Brush Creek Tax-Default notice This information is from the June 1st 2000 issue of The Mountain Messager, the county newspaper in Downieville California. This is a public notice, titled: 'Notice of impending power to sell tax-defaulted property' Amoung the properties and owners is non-other than Brush Creek Mining and Development. Four company properties are listed, including the '100 Lower Brush Creek' Parcel Number 004-160-007-0 and 'Port Wine Rd' Parcel Number 001-030-024-0. The amounts owed are listed as: Parcel Number 001-030-024-0 $7258.56 Parcel Number 004-160-002-0 $2042.38 Parcel Number 004-160-007-0 $22,287.10 Parcel Number 004-160-013-0 $2670.78
I believe the property on Port Wine Rd is the Gardiners Point property. I have NOT confirmed this, but I do think it is the only company property on Port Wine ridge.
Just in case you doubt this. I am a stockholder in JABI/Brush Creek Mining and Development. You may verify the public notice information by contacting the Sierra County Tax Collectors office. The address and phone number given in the public notice is as follows:
Sierra County Tax Collector's Office, PO BOX 376, Downieville, CA 95936 (530)-289-3286 email: taxvamp@jps.net
(I hope you catch the email name.... it's interesting and real. Her name is Cynthia A Elismore, Sierra County Tax Collector)
This is the FIRST publication of this notice, which should be repeated on June 8th and June 15. The accompanying text specifies that these tax defaults may be 'redeemed' prior to 5:00pm Friday, June 30th 2000. After that time, the county can sell the property for back taxes. |
