*OT* If you can't load windows etc. Check your BIOS and look for a setting that says something to the effect "Load configuration" Each mother board/BIOS words it differently but Windows 98 likes to change this setting and in the event of a crash, it will keep you from reloading. Changing that option back to load configuration should allow you to reload Windows and then get on with whatever back up you need to perform.
