i think, given their focus on becoming an optical incubator, i'd say they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they don't allow current shareholders to benefit from the ipo's. as far as a tax-free distribution...not sure. i doubt that would fly with the irs... the fact is, there hasn't been ANY official statements regarding the issue...

they HAVE stated they are interested in creating "shareholder value". would be a shame if they forgot about that when talking to their bankers.... again, i doubt Janus and Fidelity would be buying without the ability to get shares of the ipo's... of course, they'll get their shares one way or the other.
