To me, her work is slick, formulaic, and blatantly appealing to the soft underbelly of easily digestable excessive cutesiness. For myself, I don't consider this to be genuine innovation in the field of photography, as compared with someone such as Imogen Cunningham or Ed Weston. The quality of her photographs does not have any bearing upon kitsch factor. Much work that I would consider kitsch is technically quite passable, even sometimes superb. Certainly William Wegman, Thomas Kinkade and Graciela Rodo Boulanger are excellent from the point of simple execution.

An interesting point of fact is that you should try sometime asking any fine art photographer you may happen to meet just what he or she thinks of Anne Geddes. I think the reaction is fairly universal.
