Re: US Broadband Stats: HFC/Telephony from Adelphia

Thread- My uplinked post stated 200,000 subs today for cable telephony service. If I'm reading the stats out of Adelphia(sym:ADLAC) correctly, it's light. But I don't know much about Adelphia. Maybe it's twisted copper telephone customers?

I do know Antec(sym:ANTC), in their last CC, clearly said Adelphia was undecided about their cable telephony plans. I'll look it up....well although Adelphia is the fifth largest MSO in the country, apparently their telephony customers today are indeed, copper based. I'll leave this post for future reference.

BTW, Antec also mentioned in their last CC, in a round about way, they were planning on getting Adelphia's upgrade business. I don't know what this means to Antec plans, but looks like Harmonic(sym:HLIT) just picked up a large contract from Adelphia: biz.yahoo.com

...Adelphia Communications Corporation is one of the largest telecommunications providers in the United States, now serving approximately 5.3 million cable subscribers. Through Adelphia Business Solutions, Adelphia now serves more than 300,000 telephone access lines[copper].
