Yes it's always the downside for gold - that if the system is threatened gold will be declared illegal - but I'm not sure if it wouldn't in itself set off a huge financial panic and loss of confidence and that people would not passively comply this time. But I don't think GATA have thought this through - assume they're right - the end result will be the opposite of what they hope for.
