Re: "Well you know that old 95 core has been radically upwired to bring a 256 Bit wide cache pathway into it, so it is no old antique "stanley steamer" with intrinsic abilities that exceed the Athlon. In fact the core itself is inferior to the AThlon. The cahe allows it to creep ahead due to the wider pathway"

Well daaaaa Bill, that's the whole point. AMD added L2 to the Athlon and still they can't show a meaningful lead over CuMine. Why didn't AMD add a wider pathway? Are they incapable of doing a simple cache upgrade? Whatever the problem is, AMD has a (supposedly) superior design and a (supposedly) superior Cu process and it doesn't produce a superior product. The superiority is simply in the minds of the AMD apologists because it sure isn't in the TBird and it's larger than Intel L1+L2 and the Cu process.
