Yes, it truly is amazing. I suspect that over time the "real story" will start to unfold in the popular media. There is already anecdotal evidence how the vast dissemination of instant information is eliminating the notion of professional specialists. Think how many accountants for business were the first to go,for example, when anyone can now run their own business and tax reporting with a $75. software package and minimal time investment. On the other hand, so many companies have been caught in the non income producing cycle of spending vast sums (from prior earnings) on the technology learning curve for its own sake, with no viable effect other than to drive down their own profit margins in the long run.
