On a somewhat related note, I've been playing with a 5EMA/8SMA system on the 60 minute chart with TradeStation and it turns out that the majority of the time you're actually better off using a 4EMA/8SMA. On the 60 minute chart at least. In an overwhelming number of the markets I've backtested this results in LESS trades, and MORE net profits. Trading only this setup, the system shows great potential considering it's not even a real system yet. I'll be playing with various entries, initial stops, profit stops, pyramiding, etc. etc. etc. and will be happy to discuss and/or share the results with whoever is interested. And if anyone out there uses TradeStation and wants to work with me on this, let's talk.
