Glenayre and Beijing General Motion Communications Technology Team up For ReFLEX Technology Trial in China
SINGAPORE, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Glenayre Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Beijing General Motion Communications Technology Company to begin a trial of Glenayre's ReFLEX(TM) two-way wireless messaging technology in Beijing and Tianjin, China.

"Glenayre is pleased to be working with Beijing General Motion Communications and to provide the resources necessary for this important trial to take place. We look forward to a successful outcome and soon being able to provide the highest standard for reliable wireless data and messaging with our ReFLEX technology based infrastructure and two-way messaging devices to consumers in China," stated Eric Doggett, president and chief executive officer of Glenayre. "Glenayre has a 10 year history of providing the most reliable one-way messaging infrastructure to China. In addition to the ReFLEX software, Glenayre will be providing AccessLink(TM) II devices, @ctiveLink(TM) two-way wireless messaging modules with Handspring Visor(TM) handheld computers, GL3000 wireless messaging switch terminals, T8321 high-speed 280MHz paging transmitters, R9020 Receivers, and GL3100 and GL3200 Radio Frequency Directors (RFD).

Mr. Li Hua Dong, president of Beijing General Motion, said: "The co- operation between Glenayre and General Motion marked a new era for Wireless Messaging in China. The commercial availability of the ReFLEX will benefit the 70 million paging subscribers and, more importantly, the market potential for this service is huge.
