Sudan Begins Exporting Benzine Text of report by Sudanese TV on 5th June BBC Monitoring International Reports, June 5 Celebrations were held in Port Sudan today to inaugurate the first export of Sudanese benzine. In his address during the festivities, Energy and Mining Minister Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz commended this historic achievement and said the doors of Sudan would remain open to all investors. He also praised the achievements made by the Sudanese people in exporting Sudanese benzine through the export pipeline and the export terminal of Basha'ir in Port Sudan. Dr Al-Jaz stressed that Sudanese oil revenues would be utilized in the boosting the wheel of reconstruction and development. Meanwhile, the energy and mining minister has announced that benzine and petrol would be sold in Red Sea at half the price they were going for in Khartoum State. For his part, the governor of Red Sea State, Abu Ali Majdhub Abu Ali, stressed that this achievement was a historic one and added that the people of Sudan should offer their gratitude to God, the Almighty, for this blessing.
