(RIMS) has developed the next generation of fully open and cross-platform automation tools for the healthcare industry using Inprise/Borland's JBuilder(TM) 3 Enterprise. RIMS, a leading provider of automated eHealth benefits software solutions, chose JBuilder, Inprise/Borland's award-winning cross-platform Java(TM) development tool, to transition its family of automation tools from a COBOL-based legacy system to a Java-centric application services provider (ASP) hosting environment at their RIMSLink Facility.

The RIMSLink product suite of Internet automation tools connects healthcare preferred provider organizations (PPOs) and payers -- organizations that reprice and pay healthcare claims -- with the best possible technology-based eHealth solutions to enable a seamless exchange of information resulting in significant cost and time savings. These new tools lower administrative costs, reprice claims accurately, and achieve a high degree of automation.
"Utilizing the Inprise/Borland JBuilder tool, RIMS is leveraging Internet connectivity through its unique and flexible technology strategy," said Brian Lee, director of advanced technology, RIMS. "Speed to market was crucial in this project, and JBuilder proved to be the most rapid and capable Java development environment. Using JBuilder, we were able to complete our transition to a state-of-the-art environment in just 11 months. Additionally, Linux is becoming very popular with our in-house developers and the availability of JBuilder on Linux allows us to keep using the same development tools, which increases productivity and consistency."
"Inprise/Borland is pleased to provide RIMS the tools necessary to rapidly develop and deploy Internet-based applications for the healthcare industry," said Dale Fuller, interim president and CEO of Inprise/Borland. "JBuilder 3 Enterprise and Foundation as well as Inprise Application Server will allow RIMS to achieve the performance demands of their growing subscriber base." |
