Vodafone may not float Arcor, Infostrada - paper
FRANKFURT, June 6 (Reuters) - British mobile phone giant Vodafone AirTouch Plc (LSE: VOD.L - news) may not float stakes in its Mannesmann Arcor and Infostrada units because it is flush with cash after its sale of Orange Plc, a newspaper said on Tuesday.
German business daily Handelsblatt, citing Vodafone investor relations manager Tim Brown, said that following the Orange sale Vodafone was longer under pressure to sell the stakes to make debt payments.

The British-based group, which earlier this year acquired Arcor, Infostrada and Orange by taking over Mannesmann AG, also had the funds to buy new UMTS third generation mobile phone licences after the sale of Orange, the paper added.

Vodafone Chief Executive Chris Gent said last November that his group planned to float 20 percent in the Arcor and Infostrada fixed-line businesses.
